About

I am a Highland-based director/producer/researcher.

These three elements of my work interweave across the tapestry of my practice, which is informed by a strategic and curatorial approach to creating, a strong connection to the social and cultural narratives surrounding the work, and a deep curiosity about process. Foundational to all of this my background in feminist theory and rural theatre-making.

I am drawn to theatre that explores how our lives and relationships are impacted by contemporary social structures. Fundamentally, I am interested in human behaviour, but particularly in how our ideologies affect how we show up with one another, and how we shape and respond to our environment.

Currently, I am especially interested in the process of grief in all aspects of life; the ethics of history and storytelling; and radical feminist approaches to thinking about our relationship with the environment. Percolating across these interests is a growing curiosity about feminist narratives and storytelling more broadly.

In a rehearsal room or development space, I try to honour these creative interests throughout the process by holding a space which values collaboration, trust, and consent. I believe that creating space for reflection, and sharing the creative process allows us to make better work and model a fairer society.
